Director Ron Brodie is a Jamaican raised culture junkie hailing from the Nation's Capital, Washington DC. Having obtained his BA in Film and Television from Howard University, Ron currently resides and works in New York City.

Ron helped establish and held the role of ‘Head of Creative Development’ production company 1st Avenue Machine. His responsibilities included the development of multilateral campaigns, pitching creative treatments, securing high-level press for news made company-wide, creative support for a roster of innovative directors, and maintaining a solid rapport amongst industries top-notch talent. Through his approach and dedication, he was able to the garnish the company with creativity magazine’s top production company of the year award in 2011.

Following a stint as a freelance editor, Ron began producing a large volume of content as an independent commercial director under the moniker “rbcreative” (Ron Brodie Creative). Ron's portfolio is made up of a diverse line of commercials, music video’s, and branded content.

Ron’s charge into the independent scene has led him to consult for many studios such as Logan, Hush, Brand New School, and Special guest where he served as Creative Director on a campaign for Google called “GOODFest” 2016. The campaign comprised of 5 show, 5 cities, 5 cause awarded with a Gold Webby for best use of live streaming video.

In addition to advertising, Ron’s interest in film and music has driven the completion of two feature documentaries. “WE OUT HERE” (for Airwalk Shoes) is a full-length skate film which follows the summers of a group of underprivileged black skaters living in New York City, and “Tinie Tempah: Discovering Destiny” a film that chronicles a popular UK rappers sold out tour across England.

In 2016 Ron was invited to participate in the “#asktransfolks” initiative which shined a light on the ongoing debate over LGBTQ rights and vulnerabilities. Ron was among 19 other hand-picked creatives to participate from around the world to direct for Papel & Caneta. Ron’s most recent short film “Jumpman” (shot on 35mm film) has received a little bit of recognition in Vimeo’s 'Narrative Categories' and on Boooom.TV.

Ron's Work has been featured on Adweek, Fast Company, Creativity Online, Motionographer, and in several print publications. Although home is on the East Coast, Ron continues to work between NY and LA. Currently, he is working on a feature film focused on the lives of Jamaica’s most promising youth sprinters.
